Founding leadership

BECOME A FOUNDING CAPTAIN

Captains hold the weekly Inspection for a Crew of Builders. We are looking for 10 Captains for the inaugural cohort. A Captain role is earned through review and training — it is never sold, traded, or granted for payment.

Standards

What a Captain is held to

These are the non-negotiables. If any of them do not fit you right now, apply as a Builder first.

  • Consistency — you show up on the same day at the same time, every week.
  • Empathy — you listen before you correct.
  • Confidentiality — nothing from a Crew leaves the Crew.
  • Nonjudgmental accountability — you hold the standard without shaming anyone.
  • You can run a focused 30–45 minute weekly Inspection.
  • You escalate safety issues to staff instead of acting as a therapist or counselor.
  • You do not sell anything to your Crew without written permission and policy review.
  • You never accept payment for a rank, a placement, or a favorable Inspection.

Training

  8. 08Complete a first 1:1 with the founder or staff lead

Playbook

How to run the week

The Inspection is a focused 30–45 minutes. This is the format Captains hold.

Before the Inspection

  • Review each Builder's Bricks and Blueprint milestones for the week.
  • Note who missed a commitment so recovery is planned, not improvised.
  • Confirm time, link or location, and who is expected.

Running the 30–45 minute Inspection

  • 5 min — open with the standard: one brick every day.
  • 15 min — round the Crew: what was promised, what was kept, what was missed.
  • 10 min — recovery plan for missed commitments. No shaming, no excuses.
  • 10 min — next week's Bricks stated out loud and recorded.
  • 5 min — service and help: who needs something, who can offer something.

After the Inspection

  • Record the Inspection in the app with honest notes.
  • Escalate any safety, harassment, or crisis concern to staff the same day.
  • Follow up once mid-week with anyone who went quiet.

Hard lines

  • No diagnosing, no therapy, no legal, medical, or financial advice.
  • No selling, recruiting, or lending inside your Crew.
  • No sharing a Builder's private story or proof anywhere, ever, without written consent.

Application

Apply to captain a Crew

Applying does not grant a rank, a placement, or a Crew. A person reviews every application.

Captain agreements

No rank, placement, or Crew is granted by applying, and nothing is charged. Captain decisions are made by people, not automation.
